The Beginning/Second best week(s) of the year./GG&OTH

Hello. So let me just start by saying how much I am addicted to television, but I don't think of it so much of an addiction but more of a passion. I have started judging all the shows I watch and try to rate them on overall quality. With that said, this summer I decided to count all the television shows I love the most, plus all the new shows I intend to watch this fall. You know what that number was? I'll tell you what it was. It was exceptionally high. So in this blog, I will be giving my judgements on the following shows (by day of the week):

Monday
How I Met Your Mother
Heroes
One Tree Hill
The Big Bang Theory
Gossip Girl

Tuesday (not one of the better days...)
Hell's Kitchen
Melrose Place*
The Good Wife*
V (Nov.3)*

Wednesday
Hank*
The Middle*
Mercy*
Glee*
The Modern Family*
Cougar Town*

Thursday (best day, no doubt!)
Bones
FlashForward*
Community
Parks&Recreation
Grey's Anatomy
Private Practice
Fringe
30 Rock (Oct 15)

I don't do Friday/Saturday television. And neither should you. Sadly, I do have a life.

Sunday
The Amazing Race
Desperate Housewives
Three Rivers*
Brothers and Sisters

Shows with an asterisk are new this fall, 2009. Therefore, if they suck, I won't be talking about them and I'll let you know if they are dropped.
But even shows that aren't new this fall can also be dropped. It doesn't happen often but I think I can already see it coming with a couple...

Anyway, I probably won't get the post out the day of or even the day after, depending on how full my DVR is/if it decides to cooperate, but most likely the weekend of.

Okay, so!

Gossip Girl
Luckily today is only Tuesday so we're not that far behind and I just watched last night's Gossip Girl and you know what it made me realize? I call these upcoming weeks the second best, highest anticipated television of the year, (not including finale weeks) but in reality, they're usually the biggest disappointment. Especially when the previous season didn't end on a big cliffhanger, which I usually love, and I suppose the finale was a bit of a cliffhanger, except not at all. We just wanted to see how Chuck and Blair's relationship would hold out after endless episodes of "I love you Chuck", "I ... I ......." and FAIL, and thus finally the magical moment when he does indeed say it. Not to mention Serena's venture to find her father and Dan and Jenny's long lost brother. (Hope I'm remembering correctly...) Anyway, Monday's GG wasn't a complete trainwreck. The plotlines held together nice enough and hopefully Chuck and Blair's sexual dilemmas will keep us entertained for a while, but how long will that hold? My prediction? Not long. Don't get me wrong, they are decent storylines, but the problem is, I just don't really care that much. Not sure why. I think it could be partly because Chuck and Blair are finally together and the chase was pretty much all that kept me watching. Now I just really don't care about them or anyone else. We'll have to see where this one goes, but it's not looking great.

One Tree HIll
With the highly talked-about departure of Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton, many wondered if this show had any steam left. Guess what? It's looking grim. The 7th season kicked off with the ever-adorable Jamie having his 7th birthday party. We have a couple new characters joining: Nathan's agent, Clay, and Haley's other sister, Quinn. Do these characters make sufficient replacements for Chand and Hilarie? Ehhhhh maybe. Clay seems a bit more of a complex character just as Lucas was, which is good, but I feel as though Quinn could go either way. She could be a breath of fresh air from the emotionally unstable Peyton, or just another annoyance. So far, her and Clay seem to have some sort of spark, but it's not really significant enough to even mention when he's already fucked some blonde slut. Anyway, all in all, there was some good comic relief on Mouth and Skills' part, just for those younger fans out there, but it lacked that "umph" I was hoping OTH would be able to deliver. Except for, of course, that last cliff at the end about Nathan and this possible "one night stand" in which he supposedly partook (is that a word?). Not a bad one, but really, of all my favourite couples on all "my" tv shows, Haley and Nathan have always been one of the steadiest, most loving, and not to mention most adorable couple in all of television. If you're gonna tamper with that, you gotta be careful.

Considering those are the only two Monday shows that have premiered so far, I'll leave it at that. Tomorrow: Melrose Place/Glee.

Until then, know that I'm always watching. Even if you're not. (new tagline, likey? lmao)

ps, on Friday I'm peacing to a camp with my school, so I'm pretty much missing the biggest premiere week of Fall. You can expect a long post when I get back. That is, if anyone is reading this. Which is unlikely.
